I also stole some from my old stories. I hope you guys like it so far. I am struggling with writer's block at the moment and hopefully, I'll get more soon! Enjoy this chapter, by the way. --KatDon

Chapter 2: Shattering the Illusion

On a deeper level, the sadist nurse explores a very real fear that many patients have going into hospital. They are still hugely unsympathetic and enjoys having power over the patients and other nurses, but can still say with some justification that everything she's doing is for the patients' own good although the patients are unlikely to see it like that. Lobotomy is a rare medical operation that cuts into part of a person's brain in order to treat mental illness. Lobotomies and similar drastic brain alterations are still used as last-ditch treatment for intractable epilepsy, there was little evidence that it did anything therapeutic. The most often performed procedure rarely helped; it simply destroyed random brain matter. But for some people who are  chirpy, energetic, and arguing with the nurses. The next day, they're quiet and compliant, drooling, emotionless empty shells. Even the electroconvulsive therapy, with tongue laceration to gag them during the shock therapy. Then there are the patients with their head in the clouds. They are strangely oblivious to things that everyone else takes for granted. They may have an argument with themselves for fun, make points in an argument with no basis in logic or reality, or tell rambling stories that have nothing to do with the point they're trying to make. One among the insane would mumble, "Man was not meant to comprehend, man was not meant to use. Man was not meant to hear, man was not meant to experience. Man was not meant to meet, man was not meant to visit. Man was not meant to read, man was not meant to comprehend....Even after he was foolish enough to look at them."

Despite their relative normality, they struggle to convince the therapists of the fact. And the more they struggle, the closer they get to lunacy itself, sometimes becoming indistinguishable from the others around them. The patients may be "cured" of their "delusions" rendering them useless or troublesome until they may revel in their madness while doing what they did before, possibly with psychobabble. That's when, Aneris couldn't take it anymore with the shock therapy, the bloodletting from leeches, and other horrible experiments. She fights back, and the nurses tried to restrained her however something inside Aneris was burst out from her. Once the bottle of her superpowers is opened, it can't be sealed again. Later; Aneris is sitting on the ground, she slowly begins to stand up and makes her way through the deserted hallway. Aneris then sees a nurse in a room who's stricken with fear and closes the door, realizing that she is the cause of the damage. As Aneris makes her way outside the school building, a police car arrives and the teacher rushes outside to tell the policeman about Aneris, who then quickly rides a bicycle home to pack her things. While at home, she sees a news report about the incident, causing her to quickly gather her things to flee. Several policemen then appear outside the front door of Aneris's house, while she tries to escape through the back door. Aneris realizes that the door is locked so she uses her powers to grab the keys from the kitchen bench. The policemen then enter the house to find that Aneris is gone. Aneris running away from a team  who has been hunting her in the woods. Aneris is caught by one of the men who pushes her to the ground. Aneris uses her supernatural powers once again to push the men away in a burst of power.

She reunites with Tiresias, who had been trying to find her all this time. Tiresias learns about Aneris's past and felt so guilty that he has a meltdown. He and Aneris have a heart-to-heart talk before uniting as one. Soon, Tiresias becomes a different person and he sinks to the ground, weeping emotionally. When Aneris touched his shoulder, Tiresias embraces her while burying his face. Aneris is shocked before she enfolds him back, smiling, that he'll be fine. A few weeks later, Aneris is recovering in a better medical place, where it focuses on helping people and it's sleek modern psychiatric facility with freshly-washed sheets, nice nurses, and friendly doctors keeps getting checked into the room where their patients are. It's a beautifully decorated, spacious, and spotlessly clean hospital. It was equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, and servicing an exclusive clients. The working conditions are excellent and the pay is even better. As she learns that things are a little better somewhere else. People had been advising Aneris that things here is not what she credulously imagines it to be: it is frightening, it is horrible, and it is very dangerous. Therefore, she should be content with her surroundings and what they have to offer, which are the positive aspects of life. But for some reason, She doesn’t feel the same about something morally. Here she’s through with ordinary ways. They want her help in strengthening control in life and she won’t do it. Instead, she will leap. By leap, she means she is going to attempt to use her powers and fly away to somewhere better. Aneris has never really had anyone who has loved her. She has always been shunned by people in the asylum. The staff should have cared for her, but did not. Aneris thinks she’d rather believe in herself and her powers than the idea of repressing herself for the sake of so called love.

Since Gildas and his 12 daughters are gone, Aneris is now on her own. Tiresias offered to go with her but Aneris says she has a journey on her own to find. In return for her choice, she gets the freedom she values. "To those back in at the asylum who can’t accept her, one day I will tell them what I choose and what I've achieved. I will tell them I did what they thought was impossible for me." No one is aware of her fantasy place, but it is this wonderful place where everything is bright and joyful. There is no sad people, just happy things like butterflies. In the meantime, He is not completely human anymore. He looks and finds out that he is half of a monster. He is not the man that he used to be and learned that he was in a freak accident as he was rescued by someone or something inside him that slipped into his body. "I don’t want to be snide and oppose, but at synchronal, I don’t want to bet a bottom dollar or my mind might get profane and become foolish." His captors were disgusted by what he was and they begin to torture him, beat him up, and left him alone in a room, where his wrists were bound together from above his head ad he was dangling from his feet. "This bastard is a egotist who devours the fat of their own race. I have to stop making long suffering acts and adjust myself." He was given little food and water, he was a nuisance to the others as they found him 'boring' and 'unexcited' for any torture. They released him from his bounds and then, he escaped much to their relief. The torture and the lack of food didn't torture he any better. But it was his new found powers and the fact he was half of a man anymore. It drove him crazy, he was so angry however someone came to aid him--A girl, who had porcelain skin and she was beautiful with other features.

"There are plenty of hardships in my life, slowly appearing, making it more severe. I don’t have the strength to think straight any longer, but I won’t stop breathing." Before they can go to Suddene, Cassandra and the others had a problem to deal with. Ophelia told Silver Branch of her discovery on the drug, Nepenthe, and she figures someone is behind Nepenthe. The one who created the drug is Surya Arcenciel. However there had been a lot of psychedelic illusion and Cassandra are faced with Surya Arcenciel, who has the ability of changing her size differently and using her illusion to confuse people. Surya placed Turan into the dream world with the Nepenthe drug. Turan woke up in an illusion and looked around, depressed in a chair she sat in. She wore a transparent gown, which is projected with different designs and she gets up as Turan finds she is in various places that keep switching, Surya was delighted while Turan is gloomy. She saw projections of people in mirrors as they were talking to her however Turan couldn't understand them as she emotionless  and found nothing. But Surya is in dismay when she saw Turan reenact with the scenarios and change her style and she seemed happy nevertheless Surya changed it back. Suddenly, she ducked down to get her weapon outside of the fantasy illusion. Turan  took her weapon as she fights on however she peered over as Surya looked shocked that Turan found out, which occurred her to smile at this. Surya frantically tried to stop it, try to trap her in there but to no avail, Turan broke the illusion with her powers, which angered her and Surya watched in a fury. Turan broke out as she realized it was all fake and faced reality. She awoke from her hallucination as she ran to tell her team, Cassandra, and the others of what she discovered so Eulalie took the drug. She felt dizzy as she tried to find her happiness.

In her dreamworld; Eulalie woke up on a sunny beach, she saw a young girl drawing in the sand and Eulalie looked at the girl, which the girl looked back with a smile. The girl looks like Eulalie when she was younger. The girl turned as she ran into the water of the ocean. Eulalie watched her younger self run to the waves and dived in, so Eulalie runs into the ocean but looks back before running to the ocean. Eulalie stops hesitantly as she looks at the ocean with fear. Scared, rather, about diving in. The waves looked big, she wasn't sure if she could dive in. Eulalie looked at the ocean, she didn't look scared and pushed her fears aside before diving into the water. Underwater, it was shimmering so pretty in there while adjusting her eyes to the water scene she was in. She saw her younger self swimming ahead but looked back at her, beckoning. Eulalie took her chances and swim after her. But while she swam, she noticed the scenario of underwater was changing into a forest with tall trees. Eulalie felt joy around her, she forgotten what it feels to be like this. She begin to look eager as she swim a little closer. Eulalie found a treasure chest, she opens it and many things floated away from her. Eulalie swim near a mirror which she saw her reflection of herself as a child. She reached out as she touched her other self's hand and the reflection does as well. She looked behind her as her younger self was swimming away! Eulalie followed her, where she eagerly swim into the dark abyss. She was landing as she saw light flashing in her hands and looks to see her younger self. They were looking at each other, then she took her younger self's hands, which were out for her to take them. A bright light appears, it opened up as it amazed Eulalie when the scenario changed once again. She woke up as she found herself on the beach and gets up while she begins to twirl happily to herself. But stops when she looks in the sand where she saw fun shapes of suns, moon, stars, and flowers.

Once they all got out of their illusions, they confront her. Surya laughs dryly, "Had enough? I'll make the dose even deeper....." But heard inhuman growling, she turned to see what that sound was coming from. Jack appeared in his monster form as well as Trygve and Arcturus. Surya screamed in horror, she backs away as she cried out, "Help me! Help me! Help me!" Revenant Jack, Arcturs, and Wendigo Trygve were advancing on her as Surya screeched, "NOOOOOOO!" Cassandra stopped them as she stands over at Surya, who cowers in fear. "If I tell them to back off, will you remove all traces of Nepenthe?" asked Cassandra. "Yes, yes. Anything! I'll do anything! Just get them away from me!" begged Surya, still shaken. Cassandra smiled, "Good. That's what I want to hear." She said. Later, Dr. Bifrost was shocked to find out that Surya was responsible as she felt guilty and apologized, Cassandra assured her: "It's OK. I guess maybe Surya in a nutshell was trying to help us all in a way. But it got even more worse." She explained.

Earlier before.....

The others had been searching for Ariadne forever by now, they didn't know where she was and Siegfried begin to grow anxious. "Ariadne, Ariadne! Where are you?" called Phaedra. "Here!" Ariadne's voice called out, she emerged from hiding. Everyone is shocked to see Ariadne's new appearance: She wore her hair in a left side braid woven with snowflake incrustations, and wisps of her bangs slicked back on top of her head. She wears a crystal-blue outfit  made out of ice. It look as if it been crystallized and it had translucent, powder blue sleeves. Covering her feet are boots made entirely from ice. The shoulders had white pom-poms. "Ariadne...." Phaedra was the first to speak, "You look....Different. It suits you." Ariadne smiles brightly, "Thanks, I have no idea of how I felt in the end." Phaedra was confused, "What do you mean?" She asked. "I feel like I broke free from my prison of pain and agony. I maybe still struggling but I feel free for the first time in forever." explained Ariadne. The others are pleased to hear that, "I'm glad to hear that." said Siegfried. "Thank you, Sieg--I mean, Captain Krieger." said Ariadne. "How do you feel from what you've been through?" asked Bricriu. Ariadne was quiet for a moment, then she smiled. "Calm, no longer afraid....Fantastic, I mean." She said. Bricriu grinned, "Good to hear." Phaedra walked over and hugged her. "We're proud of you." She said. Ariadne hugged her back, but then everyone jumped when they heard Axel & Gwydion scream and waving their arms like a bunch of maniacs, "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!" Ariadne pulled away, "What's wrong with you two?"  She asked. "Daaahhhh, there's a---There's a--A monster!" Axel cried.

Ariadne looked surprised, "A monster?"  She asked. "Yes! There's a monster!"  echoed Gwydion. Ariadne smiled and said, "OK, allow me to take care of this." She prepared herself. Axel and Gwydion's eyes bulged out from their sockets, they freaked out, "EEEEAAAH!" But Ariadne looked annoyed, "Calm down you two, it's just a woman--" She said but stopped to see something was wrong with her, "Oh man. Are you OK?" The girl had wavy dark hair that was down to her waist. She was beautiful skin that was pale tan. She wore dark pants and black boots. But there was nothing on her upper half however the girl's eyes looked dull, empty like there was no life in them. "Whoa!" Ariadne gasped, she calmly came over to the girl. "Um, where is your top?" She asked. The girl looked confused, "What do you mean? It's right--" She try to gestured but saw her topless upper body, "Oh good--" gasped the young lady. But noticed everyone was staring, she covered herself. "DON'T LOOK AT MY CHEST, YOU PERVERT!!!!" She cried. Nobody was being perverted, they were shocked to see what they saw. "Who did that to you?" asked Siegfried. The girl looked at him, "What?" She snapped. "Those scars, your chest...." Siegfried pointed out. The girl looked flustered, "N--no--nothing!" She said. Siegfried reached out to her, saying: "Let me help you." The girl panicked, she backs away in fear which confused the others. "No, stay back!" She cried, she look behind to see her top on the ground and pointed over to where it was, "Just give me my top, please!" She begged.

Siegfried calmly walked over, picked it up and hands it to her. The girl quickly takes it and said, "Thank you." She ducked behind and there was some swift sounds before she emerged from the tree in her top. She looked at everyone and begins to get angry, when she glared; her eyes became reptilian. Fierce like a lizard or a snake. "IF YOU SAY ONE WORD TO ANYONE, I'LL RIP YOUR INTESTINES OUT AND FEED THEM TO THE SHARKS!!!!" threatened the girl. Ariadne and the others were terrified, "OK, OK. We won't. Promise." They said in unison. The girl nodded, "Thanks....." She said. "My name is Ariadne Sirius, what's your name?" asked Ariadne. "Manasa. Manasa Hydrus." said the girl. In the meantime, Silver Branch agents are called back to the agency as they got another world to go to. It was a world known as Suddene, where Thanatos Agnolo resides. He is a mysterious guy who is infatuated with a pretty girl name Proserpina and declares to protect her. He is accompanied by a witty, clever and free spirited young lady name Aoife as well as Laran. Cassandra and the others decide to take this job. While traveling, Norna had a dream: The sound of a clock being wind up as a porcelain ballerina was pirouetting, twirling in that music box and then the song fades, stopping. But then, the ballerina comes to life. She steps away from the pedestal as she walks over from the box to look over and she sees a butterfly which she looks on with a smile but then the butterfly turns into a bat, much to her horror as it flew away. This made the ballerina terrified as she has nightmares of breaking and falling to the darkness below if she fell. But she pushed that aside and breaks out, gliding to her new freedom and has never felt so free. She looks around, the dawn of a new day has come.

Long ago; Aneris Tremeur lived a happy life with her 12 sisters: Nimue, Aurore, Aimee, Sigvarda, Baldevina, Hilda, Thora, Braga, Vála, Tyra, Dorani, and Armida. But that all changed when they decided to go see the new movie flick, Morgan Stern. During the middle of the best part of the movie, A man entered with a gun as he begins shooting everyone, however he hears the cops coming and flee. Only 75 people were injured while 21 are dead, among the dead is Aneris's twelve, beautiful, kind, supporting, and loving sisters. Aneris was traumatized as she vowed to find the person that did this to her sisters, they will pay dearly. But she discovers something from her father, Gildas Tremeur, who claims that he is not her biological father. He explains that she is the daughter of cult leader Conomar Barbebleu. Conomar has killed many people with his female assistants and other accomplices. And their mother, Tryphine Askeladden, had died from an overdose. Aneris's birth surname name is Azazel. The reason why Gildas is telling her this is because he had heard that he was going to be killed by Charon Surtur as he claims he has not much longer to live. Aneris begins to panic, she grabs him and said, "NOOOO, NOT YOU! I'M NOT LOSING YOU LIKE I LOST MY SISTERS--I'M NOT LOSING YOU!!!!" But there was a sinister laugh. There he was, Charon Surtur. He looked like hell with his red pupils and black sclera, which they were wide. His hair was dark gray. He had the most horrifying smile anyone has ever seen. His grin was wide and demonic, it literally stretched to the sides of his face like the Cheshire Cat would. But Charon's teeth had incisors, however they looked like very sharp fangs. They were yellowish, he had stains of blood and small bits of flesh on his mouth. Aneris was so shocked that she couldn't believe what she was seeing.

Gildas gripped her shoulders tightly, "Listen to me, Aneris!" He commanded. Aneris was shaken with fear by the sight of this guy, "Daddy, I--I--I'm scared." She said with her sentences full of stuttering. Gildas pushed her away and cried out, "Just run, Aneris! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! GO AS FAST AS YOU CAN! GOOOOOOO!!!!" Aneris ran but she stopped to turn around and saw Gildas's body, his entrails were gouged out. Gildas has been stabbed and he fell down. Charon looked at Aneris, he grinned widely as the shocked Aneris ran away safely from him. Once she got to a safe haven, Aneris begin to cry. "Why....Why is this happening?" And cried hysterically while shouting, "WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?!" Years later in the present, Aneris is now a graduated student and is a part time worker at a school, where she encounters an ignorant yet arrogant and troubled boy. Aneris uses her wits towards him when he tried to humiliate her. It wasn't until after school when the boy comes to 'bother' her. "I'm Tiresias, Tiresias Renato." said the ignorant boy. "Tiresias, huh." remarked Aneris. Tiresias remarked back, "So? Wasn't my idea, retard. What did your saddled with?" "I wasn't saddled with anything, Aneris." Aneris replies with sarcasm. "Anais?" Tiresias said with a grin. "Aneris! Aneris Azazel." Aneris said, annoyed. "'Azazel'? What are you, a scapegoat?" Tiresias mocked. Now she was ticked: Aneris rolled her eyes and muttered, "Shut up." But all of a sudden; A mellow yet ringing voice calls out, "Tiresias!" Smirking; Aneris turns and replies, "I think I heard someone calling you, Tiresias." Tiresias looked shocked, "What? I didn't hear anybody." He said nervously. "Oh, I definitely heard somebody. Tiresias!"  Aneris snarled. "Tiresias, Come on!" said the voice once more. Tiresias cussed under his breath, "Shit, Mom!" he turned and calls back, "Coming, coming." He nervously laughs at Aneris, who gives him a dirty look.

"Well, great to meet a scapegoat freak." remarked Tiresias and he leaves. Aneris watches him go but Charon Surtur, the one who murdered Gildas, attempts assault. Charon pounces and bites Mrs. Renato! Aneris comes to her rescue as well as Tiresias's. Tiresias is shocked to see Aneris injuring Charon, who escaped, and tending to Mrs. Renato's wounds. Later, Aneris enters the hospital to see Tiresias there with his mother, watching her with grief. Just then, she is questioned by police and she is arrested, she tried to explain she was tending Mrs. Renato's wounds however nobody believes her. She screams for mercy and sanctuary. That night, Aneris dreamed of dead children laying in a pool of blood. She dreamed of a dripping sound and finding a body dripping of blood, also lifeless. She wakes up scared and falls asleep but another nightmare appears: She dreamed of hearing a dripping sound: "What the hell is that dripping sound?" she asked, and she goes to check as she turns off the faucet. But hears the dripping again later, "The hell? I thought I--" she muttered. She finds out it's the other bathroom and turns off that faucet. However, she hears the same dripping and she gets irritated: "Not again, jeez--" she mumbled. She finds out it is the kitchen. Nevertheless, she hears the dripping and goes to check, this time she's upset: "All right, that's it. Whatever it is, it could be--" but stop to find a bloody body hanging in the air on a chandler. Aneris screams and wakes up to the sunrise, relieved that it was all a dream. And she was in the asylum--Or the bedlam house as they like to call it. Poor Aneris. She's lost her grip on sanity. She's stark raving mad.

This was no hospital paradise, no sleek modern psychiatric facility with freshly-washed sheets. No nice nurses or friendly doctors. There was nothing she could do. These doctors that uses knowledge of the workings of the body and mind to do evil, abuses the authority they has from their doctorate, and practices freakish and horrific experiments. Of course, for all their insanity, the doctor may in fact know what they're doing. Patients may be terrified by the way they act and the bizarre treatments they puts them through, but when the doctors are done with them they're actually cured. Sometimes there are no therapists and sometimes some only wish there weren't. Mental illness or psychological trauma can be serious, damaging issues that may need many months, if not years, of serious and dedicated care from a highly trained and understanding professional. These guys are therapists who really should not be a therapist; at best they will display a criminally negligent. They lack of empathy with the patient and either grow callously frustrated with dealing with other people's problems, or give them horrible and often self-destructive advice; at worst, they will have sinister, ulterior motives and actively abuse the relationship, possibly making their hapless victim an unwitting pawn in some evil schemes, or perhaps deliberately sabotaging their fragile mental state out of sheer sadism. Nurses are incredibly sadistic and cruel nurse, they're Always Female. She kicks patients, the weaker the better. If she is already the head nurse, her cruelty gives her a degree of power over both the patients and the other nurses. Anybody who goes against her ends up injured or worse, and she jumps at the chance to give a particularly rebellious patient a lobotomy. Especially if she decides to test interesting new drugs on her helpless patients.
