Uranometria: Memoir Implant--Chapter 3

This is the third chapter of Uranometria. Looks like things are heating up when Usodori is joining Ophelia's crew and she is falling head over heels for Ace. There are some creepy stuff around here for everyone as Turan and Nainn became closer friends. --KatDon

Chapter 3: Opposites Attract, Mesmerizing Results

Turan opens her eyes, slowly adjusting to the darkness around her. It wasn't too dark as light poured through a boarded up window, it was morning. She scans her surroundings as only to snap her attention turned to a corner with a shuffling sound. "So, you're finally awake beautiful." A voice murmured. She looked and she saw Nainn in a straitjacket, "You OK?" asked Turan. "Oh, yeah. All tied up so this isn't nothing new." Nainn remarked sarcastically. Turan can't remember what happened as she looked around at the windows and the door, checking to see that they were locked however Nainn is watching her every move while in the room. "Whatcha looking at?" Turan grumbled, prying a plank from the floor. It wasn't like him looking at her bothered Turan one bit but somehow, a faint blush creeping on her face as she could feel Nainn's eyes raking her while he chuckled. Turan sighed, sitting back in her corner. A lot of time has passed and Nainn stretched his arms out, he looked at Turan and grinned wickedly: "So, what do you think about killing people?" He asked. Terrified; her mind was shrieking, "What kind of question is that?" as she flattened herself on the wall while Nainn chuckled again. He shifted around and he seemed uncomfortable. "Ugh! These stupid restraints." He muttered with a look of a disgust. Turan walked over and removed the restraints, "What the hell?" Nainn started to say but then he felt loose from the straitjacket and grinned, throwing the jacket off him. Nainn stretched while Turan watched him for awhile. It was now dark out and Turan yawned but she didn't sleep. She begin to hum to herself, while trying to stay awake. Nainn watched her, mesmerizing by her. "Nice singing, you got yourself a beautiful voice." He said. Nainn frowned, he doesn't know her and Turan doesn't know him that much but she chuckled as he was trying to frown away. "It's a song called 'Who Killed Cock Robin?'." She said while smiling at him. It was quiet for a moment until Turan looked at him, "Nainn?" She asked. "Hmm?" Nainn responded. "What do.....What do you think about me?" inquired Turan. Nainn looked at her with shock, "Did she ask me that?" She seem want to know this, "Why would he not be scared of me after all we've been through? OK, I don't know him that much!" In the meantime; Nainn could feel his heart racing, he didn't want to admit that he was falling for her. Monster or not, she should know that he likes her a lot, no other girls ever made him feel this way.

He anxiously didn't know what to say, but there was a mushy part of him that wants to melt in her arms as wants to nuzzle her neck. That thought made her blush but also disgusted. As light finally poured through the window, she looks up at Nainn, He leaned against the wall looking at her way. Turan smiled nervously, "They will catch us now. What will we do now?" She ask, panic evident in her voice. Nainn chuckled in a deranged manner, making Turan roll her eyes at him. "What's so funny?" She ask pouting while crossing her hands on her chest. "You're funny" Nainn said, yawning as he was looking at her. Turan looked away from him huffing. Then, there was a loud noise as Turan looked to the window from which Nainn yanked off the planks. Nainn was climbing out as he hold onto the window as he looked at her, "I like you." He said as he lets go off the window. Turan ran towards the window and went with him. At last, Nainn was on his bed, laying on his stomach, thinking about Turan. He heard a click and looked up to see Turan climbing down through his window into the room. Nainn was at first shocked but then chuckled seeing her as she plopped down on his bed. She looked at him questioningly, raising an eyebrow when she saw him chuckling. Nainn shook his head dismissing her as he laid back on his bed again. "So you like me?" Nainn asked smiling at her. "Yeah, I do." Turan said returning you the smile, "You make a great friend Nainn. We have a lot in common." She said grinning before falling asleep. Nainn sighed, "Well, friendship with a monster chick? It's going to go a long way." He smiled as he closed his eyes, drifting off to sleep. "Ugh, can we get this over with already?" Nainn complained. Turan swatted his head, "Stop complaining!" She scolded. "Well--Quit with the lame questions!" Nainn said, looking all sarcastic. "They get better, I promise!" Turan said with a wink. Nainn rolled his eyes, "Fine..." He admiited. Reading from the list; Turan asked: "Knives and blades?" Nainn grinned, "Hell yeah!" He said. Turan nodded, "I have to agree with you on that one." She said. The second thing on the list that says, "Guns?" Nainn shrugged, "Meh." was his response. "Whips and stuff?" asked Turan, which was the third thing on the list. "THAT TAKES TOO LONG!!!" exclaimed Nain. Turan shushed him, "Will you shut up?!" She hissed. With a smile, she says the fourth and last on the list: "How about make love and not war?" She suggested. Nainn looked at her funny, "Ewww, get away from me!" He said. Turan laughed, "Hey, hey. Everything's gonna be OK." She said. "That's why I love you." Nainn said, pretending to be all mushy gushy. Turan was nervous around that, "Heh, no it isn't!" She said. "Can't I just be sweet?" Nainn protested. "No, Nainn. That's weird." Turan said. "Finally!" exhaled Nainn. "Shut up." Turan snapped. "Why don't you go to sleep?" Nainn said. "Not that one." groaned Nainn. "It's cute!" Turan said. "Shut up." Nainn said, irritated. "Just...no." Nainn said, uncomfortably. "No." Turan said. Nainn face-palm himself. "I don't want to know their opinion on me." Nainn retorted. "Sorry man!" Tuan apologized. "Sorry don't cut it!" Nainn said. "I did?" Turan asked. "Yes." Nainn said. Mortified; Tuan said, "Oh...." "This isn't a real question." Nainn remarked. "I don't care!" snapped Turan. "You should!" argued Nainn. Turan sighed in defeat, "Fine." She said.

Usodori’s not attracted to any guy's arrogance. He’s extremely intelligent and understands things that are complicated. On the flip side, it’s hard for him to comprehend the simple things in life like knowing how to please a women. Usodori isn’t looking for a superficial connection; she wants real, true love from a genuinely good and well rounded man. Being really smart is great and all, but that alone won’t get you very far with her. The guy is probably smart enough not to understand Usodori. The second guy she’s met obviously cares way too much about his looks. He never leaves home without a mirror, a comb, and some extra hold gel in his hair for fear that it might get a little bit messy. Maybe Usodori finds him reasonably attractive, but it’s things like these that drive her away. At any rate, she won’t be terribly impressed by good looks alone. Even if the guy who’s trying to impress her is gorgeous, that’s not going to be enough to satisfy her high standards if he’s not great in other ways too. Usodori is not taken with looks or talk — she wants a man that can make her feel good, both inside and out. The take-home is that is not worthy for her. Most likely won’t really impress Usodori unless you can keep her warm at night. She’s only making fun of shallow men who consider themselves superstars. He can find someone that is way better than the girl that basically can do whatever she wants. The world knows that she is a crazy bitch, she does every thing she wants that comes to her mind! All she wants is to lose control of herself, and let go. Usodori is weird, she laughs herself to sleep which is the complete opposite of what most sad people do. The adrenaline rush she gets when doing dangerous things makes her feel alive. Usodori wants to do things to the extreme. She wants people to push her to edge just to feel alive! It’s boring to do what others expect this guy to do. That night; Usodori cannot sleep but she is startled to see Ace in her room. Usodori is not going to listen to what he is going say. Usodori asked if he is here to kill her and Ace chuckles & tells her that he wasn't sent here to murder, "What would I do without you? Starve to death? I don't think so, your amazing to me." Usodori says that he is a bunch of crap and says that she is going to sleep. Ace moves closer and tells her softly that she will suffer her last breath because he was sent here so she wouldn't reveal anything 'personal'. Usodori moves away and replies that she will think about it. Ace turns Usodori's face towards him as he leans towards her lips; whispering: "I'm not gonna bite....you." Usodori kicks him and orders him to leave. Ace smirks and tells her "You'll be sorry, But someday you will have great power." Usodori insists that she doesn't want it but Ace tells her that she will & disappears. Ophelia woke up in a hotel room while Usodori was watching TV. "How did we get in here?" She asked. "You fell asleep and I had to carry you." Usodori explained. Rubbing her eyes; the agent was looking at a show that was playing a creepy theme song. "What are you watching?" asked Ophelia.
Usodori smiled, "One of my favorites, Macabre Tortellini." She said. The agent looked at her with surprise, "Macabre Tortellini?" She asked. "Yeah, it's a scary series that is based on spooky tales and creepy stuff from the website, Macabre Tortellini." explained Usodori.

Fascinated; Ophelia was intrigued and she watched with her and watched some episodes with her. It was a beautiful day to leave work early. Wilhelm walked through his neighborhood as if in a slow motion dream, his face warmed by the golden haze of the low-hanging sun. Nearby, a cluster of children were tearing into a struggling mailman, but he paid them little attention. They didn’t matter. Thoughts of her drew him on. With screams exploding all around like mortar fire, Wilhelm heard only a piano—her piano, playing just for him. His pace slowly began to pick up speed as he neared his house. He angled through a yard, barely noticing the overturned sprinkler washing blood down a neighbor’s driveway. The shortcut left his shoes muddy and brought him dangerously close to a woman digging through an old man’s stomach, but he chanced it, as he’d already chanced so much today. And at last he was home, and he was up the front porch and through the screen door, and he saw her. Still here, thank God. He’d made it in time. She stood by the piano, her sundress radiant in the late afternoon light, and just as he’d told her every day for the last twenty years, she looked as lovely to him as the day they’d met. He took her into his arms without a word. Let the world go to hell—Wilhelm had her. He held her close, brushed back her hair, and as she sank her teeth deep into his throat, he kissed her cheek. He didn’t mind as long as it was her. Only her. She only mattered. Only Lenore. After the show ended; the television shuts off. "Damn! That was scary." sighed Ophelia. "I know, you terrified?" teased Usodori with a smile. Ophelia laughed, "Oh, please! Haven't I seen enough? I need to get away from the scary crap." Usodori looked at her seriously, "So, what are searching for, anyway?" She inquired. "Hmm, well....I want adventure, maybe something different and not this scary shit!" explained Ophelia.

How did this happen? Let's go back to the beginning, shall we?

Earlier before....

Ophelia is teaming up with Great Watch's agent Usodori and reunites with Roland and Ace. In the meantime; Janus and Jade were placed together however Jade is afraid because of her undead rabbits and fears Janus wouldn't like them, but to her surprise; Janus is fascinated and Jade warms up to him. Soren and Bendis were placed together and they both are shyly attracted to one another, the same goes for Astrild and Magda. Struggling to read the expressions on people's faces; Ophelia wanted to more empathetic, more understanding. She may have neurological condition; it's because of her social communications and to unable to understand. If this power can help her understand others and what they are going through. The very first American light novel writer name Creissant Raffi became successful of her book as it becomes an ongoing series. Her light novel is about a place in another world where there's the main characters are passionate yet awesome people. Her story is adapted into a manga as well as an anime. There is a romantic triangle with a pretty girl who is a witty, sexy yet adventurous girl. Luckily, Creissant is creating another story about a rival between the two boys from different families,  until a girl comes along and managed to become a peace maker as she bashes the guys in the head any time they argue with each other. Then, the truth turns out for the girl's comically brutal peace making is emotional as she has suffered arguments with her siblings that caused death in the family. The second part of the story is a sexy spin on things: A girl with enhanced powers who disguised herself as a creature in a world of monsters but becomes attracted by both creature boys. There's two people who is excited and it's Ophelia as well as Usodori.

Usodori kicks him and orders him to leave. Ace smirks and tells her "You'll be sorry, But someday you will have great power." Usodori insists that she doesn't want it but Ace tells her that she will & disappears. However, Usodori remembers of being rejected and begins to sob but Ace comes to her, seeing her upset and talks to her while comforting her about the relationship she once suffered once before.

"He's a jerk. You'll find someone better." He said. "Like who?" Usodori ask, wiping off wetness from your face. "No one wants me." He chuckles to himself and she stare at him. "What..?" Usodori asked. "Nothing," He murmurs. "No, tell me," Usodori insist, coming closer to him. "What's so funny?" She begged. "I just-nothing, never mind." He looks away uncomfortably and she watch him for a little and then she took a sip on her tea. "Tell me. please," Usodori say quietly. All Ace does is tell Usodori to close her eyes. "Why..?" She asked. "Just do it." And that's when his lips meet hers and she pulls herself into him, feeling more comfortable than she's ever felt before. In the meantime; Turan and Nainn are taking a one on one as Turan asked him if he's ready. Nainn looked at her funny, "Ewww, get away from me!" He said. Turan laughed, "Hey, hey. Everything's gonna be OK." She said. Turan caught her breath from laughing and looking at him seriously: "I mean, this is a conversation on venting out without getting violent. This is anger management or therapy since I've experienced." She explained. "That's why I love you." Nainn said, pretending to be all mushy gushy. Turan was nervous around that, "Heh, no it isn't!" She said. "Can't I just be sweet?" Nainn protested. "No, Nainn. That's weird." Turan said. And she asked if he's a person of violence. "Finally!" exhaled Nainn. "Shut up." Turan snapped. "Why don't you go to sleep?" Nainn said. Turan decided to move on with the subject. Looking through Nainn's photos, Turan likes the picures of Nainn as a child. "Not that one." groaned Nainn. "It's cute!" Turan said. "Shut up." snapped Nainn. Then, Turan had to ask about foreplay. "Just...no." Nainn said, uncomfortably. "No." Turan said. She asked if he believe in ghosts or flying pigs. Hearing this; Nainn face-palm himself. Turan giggles at his reaction, then moves on to the next and she reads a question about how he feels what people think about him.

"I don't want to know their opinion on me." Nainn retorted. "Sorry man!" Turan apologized. "Sorry don't cut it!" Nainn said. Then she asked if he believes in flying pigs. Nainn reminded her that she asked that already. "I did?" Turan asked. "Yes." Nainn said. Mortified; Tuan said, "Oh...." She took a pencil out and crossed out that question. Then she asked if he has trouble with dealing with people. "This isn't a real question." Nainn remarked. "I don't care!" snapped Turan. "You should!" argued Nainn. Turan sighed in defeat, "Fine." She said. Then, they were interrupted by a noise. Edging around the darkness; Turan and Nainnwas looking up and down as well as left and right. "I am not afraid, I am not afraid." Turan thought to herself over and over again. But she could feel her pulse is rushing, her mind was reeling, and sweating so much. Then, they heard a noise and turned around only to be hit in the head with something hard as they were knocked unconscious. Turan opens her eyes, slowly adjusting to the darkness around her. It wasn't too dark as light poured through a boarded up window, it was morning. She scans her surroundings as only to snap her attention turned to a corner with a shuffling sound. Ophelia woke up in a hotel room while Usodori was watching TV. "How did we get in here?" She asked. "You fell asleep and I had to carry you." Usodori explained. Rubbing her eyes; Ophelia was looking at a show that was playing a creepy theme song.

Fascinated; Ophelia was intrigued and she watched with her and watched some episodes like how a boy found a big toe in the ground and brought it home. "Look Mama, I found a toe!" He said to his mother, showing it to her. "Why, it looks nice and plump. I'll put it in the soup and we'll have it for dinner." said his mother. The father sliced the toe into pieces and the family each had a piece. Then, they did the dishes and went to bed. As the boy was asleep; he woke up to hear someone or something of a voice calling out to him: "Where is my toe?" It said in a groaning voice. The boy got scared but try to assure himself, "It doesn't know where I am, it will never find me." Then, he heard the backdoor opened and that groaning voice called out: "Where is my toe?" The boy went under the covers, "I'll go to sleep, when I woke up--It'll be gone!" He thought. Then, he heard the monster's footsteps going into the kitchen, up the stairs, in the hallway, and outside his door. "WHERE IS MY TOE?!" It said in a groaning way. The door opened, it made its way through the dark towards his bed and stopped as the boy was shaking with fear. The footsteps then stopped and then, "WHERE IS MY TOE?!" It groaned. The bed covers came off and a terrified face looked at him: "YOUUUUUU GOT IT!!!!!!" A loud scream filled the house! Later; A man and woman are in love, and after their date of dinner and a movie, they decide to go to a secluded spot and have some special quiet time alone with each other. They drive to a spot near the woods at a lookout point, which overlooks the city below. They turn on the radio to some soft listening music and begin to kiss, hug, and talk of their future together. As time goes by, an announcement comes on the radio telling of an escaped murderer that has a hook for a hand. "Let's roll up the windows and lock the doors." suggested the girl. "Good idea." said her lover, doing that now. "That place is close by, it's not so far, maybe we should go home." said the girl. "But it's only ten o'clock!" complained her lover. "I don't care what time it is, I want to go home." said the girl. "Look, he's not gonna climb up here. Why would he did? If he did, the doors are locked, how could he get in?" assured his lover. She convinces her lover that they should leave, as the murderer could break the window opened it with his hook, and the man, frustrated, speeds off in a frantic manner. They arrive at the woman's home, and he gets out, opens her door to walk her to her front door. That is when he notices a bloody hook attached to the passenger side of the door.

Two weeks later; this girl went out on a Saturday night a few weeks ago to a party. She was having a good time and had a couple of beers and some guy seemed to like her and invited her to go to another party. She quickly agreed and decided to go along with him. He took her to a party in some apartment and they continued to drink, and even got involved with some drugs. The next thing she knew, she woke up completely naked in a bathtub filled with ice. She was still feeling the effects of the drugs, but looked around to see she was alone. She looked down at her chest, which had CALL 911 or YOU'LL DIE" written on it with lipstick. She saw a phone on a stand next to the tub so she picked it up and dialed. She explained to the operator what the situation was and that she didn't know where she was, what she took, or why she was really calling. The 911 operator advised her to get out of the tub. She did, and she appeared normal, so she was told to check her back. She did, and found two 9 inch slits on her lower back. The operator told her to get back into the tub immediately, and they sent a rescue team over. Apparently, after being examined, she found out more of what had happened. Her kidneys were stolen. A week after; a young man moved in with his brother. He fell asleep after he moved in. One night, he woke up as he heard rustling noises coming from outside at about one in the morning. The next night, he heard the window opening and a loud thump, as if something entered the room. The man looked up and saw nothing. The next morning, The brother dropped his coffee cup when he saw and held up a nearby mirror and the man saw himself. There was a large gash in his left cheek. At the hospital, the doctor told him somehow he lost his left kidney last night. The third night; the young man woke up to see a truly horrifying sight. A staring face to face with a creature with a black hoodie and dark blue mask with no nose or mouth staring down at him. The thing that scared me the most was that it had no eyes. Just empty, black sockets. The creature also had some black substance dripping from it’s sockets. The creature went away but he dropped something that he didn't noticed. Turning on the light, he picked it up and closed the window. He looked at the thing he had picked up and nearly vomited. In his hand was his stolen half-eaten kidney, with some black substance on it. On the news talks about sewer alligators: It was once a fad to bring back baby alligators for their children to raise as pets. These infant gators eventually grew up and outlived their cuteness, sad to say, at which point their desperate owners flushed them down the toilet to get rid of them. Some of these hastily disposed-of critters managed to survive and breed in the dank sewer system, so the story goes, producing colonies of giant, albino alligators beneath the streets of the city. Their descendants thrive down there to this day, completely hidden from human eyes.

A young woman in town married a man from another part of the country. He was a nice fellow, and they got along pretty well together. There was only one problem; every night he’d go swimming in the river. Sometimes, he’d be gone all night long, and she would complain of her loneliness. The couple had two young sons. As soon as the boys could walk, their father began to teach them how to swim, and when they got older, he would take them swimming in the river at night. They would often stay there all night long, and the woman would stay home, alone. After a while, she began to act strangely; She told them that her husband was turning into an alligator and he was trying to turn the boys into alligators, too. Everyone told her there was nothing wrong with a man taking his sons swimming. That was just a natural thing to do. There just weren’t any alligators in the area, and everybody knew that. Early one morning, the woman came running into town from the direction of the river. She was soaking wet, her clothing dripping water. She said a big alligator and two little alligators had pulled her into the river and tried to get her to eat a raw fish. She claimed that they were her husband and her sons, and they apparently wanted her to live with them, but she managed to escape. Her doctor decided she had lost her mind, and he had her put in the mental institution for a while. After that, nobody saw her husband or children again. They just vanished. But every now and then, a fisherman would talk about seeing alligators in the river at night. Usually, it was one large alligator accompanied by two small ones. A woman was chained at the wrists and ankles, shackled to a metal bar that was secured to a concrete wall. Locked in a small, soundproof room, hidden behind her ex-husband's laundry cupboard. He set up a small television in there, running a news channel 24/7, so she could see all of the reports about her missing self. The woman was growing weaker every day without water or food, but he would be back soon to beat her, and that's when she would make a break for it. The woman had a plan to get out, it wasn't foolproof but she had to try. She still had hope, that's all that mattered in those moments. That was, until the woman saw the reports that her ex-husband and the prime suspect in her disappearance, had been found dead in his home. They had already come to inspect the scene and take away his body, packed up and left. The woman was all alone now, with no chance of escape. She had no hope left.

A little boy woke up in the middle of the night after he had a bad dream, he look and saw that the window was opened. The boy went to the window and shut it before going back to sleep but felt something strange was happening. He looked up to see a ray of light that irradiating. The boy nearly jumped when he saw eyes looking back at her, they weren't regular eyes. They were black and creepy as they bore into his horrified face. The person with those eyes stepped out and revealed to have a long, horrendous smiled across his face, The figure of a man stood watching him and said something of a way a maniac would say: "Come, my child, sleep." Then, the man pulled out a knife and aimed at the agent's heart. He jumped on top of the bed but the boy fought back as they begin rolling around with the boy kicking and punching. The man threw the knife, trying to aim it at her heart but instead, the sharp blade went into her shoulder. The killer turned and ran down the hallway, he went to the back door and broke it opened. The boy watched him go as he would never forget those eyes looking at him, nor that grin on his face. The boy and his parents told the police what had happened and they were still looking for the killer. A woman was returning from a trip and was trying to get some sleep when she turned and gasped at the sight of a naked man, or a large hairless dog of some sort. Its body position was disturbing and unnatural. For some reason, the woman was not instantly frightened by it, but more concerned as to its condition. The creature scrambled around her bed and was completely silent for 30 seconds, looking at her. It placed a claw-like hand on her knee and ran out her room. Out of the house. The woman was trembling as she couldn't sleep that night. She went to see her neighbor, where she saw a familiar creature in the window, hunched over and crouching while covered in blood. The woman barged the door opened and went in but the creature got away! It ran out of the house, as the woman rushed over to help her neighbor, who spoke his last words before he died: "He is....The Wendi." A young man experienced something terrifying as he looked at his window to see something in his window where the blinds were, it has been there for almost a week. It looks featureless, only skin on a human frame, and it's pressing itself against the glass somehow. This featureless creature was hairless, naked, and didn't look like it had eyes or even a face at all to begin with. Its head turned towards him when he enters his room. The young man was both annoyed and afraid of this thing, she's pretty freaked out. He could feel the thing's faceless look hated into her direction, the hairs on his neck were standing up. When the young man turned around, it seemed innocent.

Two days after, the young man try to open his window but it was stuck and looked out into the blinds to see the creature's face which its eyes and mouth are behind the skin, pushing outwards and it was staring at her smiling. At night, it's all quiet. Claws gripping the back of a chair where the young man was typing on his computer as he could feel its skin stretching as it smiles. The elevator door opened and a man stepped out. The lights were out, for some reason. His apartment unit was somewhere further down, near the end. It was a walk he had taken so often, every single day, without even thinking. But never in the dark. He began walking, eyes turning involuntarily to each passing doorway. Then he heard it. Scraping. Dragging. And a noise that he was convinced himself was due to an old air-cond unit starting up. Until he saw it. Emerging from the doorway. Hollow eyes. A flayed mask for a face. Ruined, fingerless hands, reaching forward. And so much blood. The man had stumbled back two steps, nearly falling over, before something in his brain kicked in and he sprinted for the elevator. Behind, he heard it croaking. And the scraping. Dragging itself after me. He didn’t look back. He punched the elevator button over and over and over. Scrape. Then, mercifully, the doors opened, flashing a ray of light into the hallway. The man dashed in, hitting the wall, nearly weeping in relief. Then he realized that he hadn’t closed the doors. It was still crawling on. Inch by inch. Toward him. He smashed his fist on the closed button, and prayed. The last thing he saw before the doors closed were its eyes. Bloodshot. Lidless. Staring straight at hime. It’s been a month. This young man believe in ghosts now, he believe that there are monsters who haunt this world. He believe that what he saw wasn’t human. And in the news, he looks at the newspaper reports that she had crawled on her stumps, bleeding gallons, dying only inches away from the elevator door.
